The tool has been designed by British Canoeing Awarding Body to assist coaches to prioritise their development, plan support with Mentor or Coach Developer and consider what they are good at and where they can focus their development.

The Coach Self Analysis is discipline specific, repeatable and free to use for National Association Members.

When using the tool there are 5 key areas you will consider and analyse:

  • Technical and Tactical
  • Physical
  • Psychological
  • Coaching
  • Wider development areas

Once complete you receive an analysis that will give you an overview of your answers, as well as a breakdown of each key area.

The analysis then offers considerations of how you may want to support your continual learning and development.

The Tool also provides links to a range of resources within the British Canoeing Awarding Body NEW Digital Library.

Which includes:

  • Academic papers
  • Videos
  • Podcasts
  • eLearning and much more!

The Library will continue to grow and develop as new resources are made available and can also be used as a stand-alone resource for you to browse topics relevant to you.

The self analysis tool has the function to alert you if you results show that you could consider having your current knowledge and experience verified to allow direct access opportunities to a coaching assessment.

Once You complete the self-analysis, you have the option to download results so you can share this with peers, coach developers and mentors, who can help in your development and offer further guidance and support.

For the best experience please use Google Chrome. Downloading PDF is not compatible with Safari.
