Paddle Explore Award

Description

10 CPD Points

Your Paddle Explore Award gives you ownership; because you choose what to focus on and where you move next in the world of paddlesport. Working with a coach you will be able to develop a programme that suits you, as a result no two Explore Awards are the same. In this award you will take ownership of your own decisions and learn to make confidence choices, based on the places you paddle, wind and weather.

You will learn to make confident choices. Above all you will Recognise your ability to independently paddle your chosen craft in a sheltered water environment.

Quotes from our Learners

It has been an amazing experience, which has been challenging, but so worth every minute and it has left me keen to learn more. I am so grateful to my coach for all his patience and for guiding, supporting and believing in me, enabling me to achieve my first (of many I hope) paddlesport qualifications. Sarah

I am now a member of Avon Outdoor Activities Club and to be able to partake in kayaking trips, they expect you to complete the Paddle Explore Award, so you are competent in rescues and understand the basics. It made sense for me to do this as I wanted to get myself on the water as soon as possible. I really enjoyed completing the Paddle Explore Award, it was great fun. The coaches were excellent, I met loads of new people and the courses were fun. I came out of them far more confident than I was expecting. It gave me the confidence to consider doing white water. – Lee, Bristol.

There are a wide variety of reasons that people are choosing to do the new Paddle Explore Award, some just wanting to start a new hobby. A couple came to us as they were going on a cruise to Greenland. As part of the trip, they were going to paddle the Fjords with an instructor but wanted to be proficient so they could enjoy the experience more. A father and son wanted to start going on adventures. Another paddler wanted to set up a local experience on his canals for young people, the start of his coaching journey. Paul – Staffordshire
