British Canoeing Awarding Body is delighted to be launching the online Coach Award Core Coach Training programme.
Over the past month, Paddles Up Training have been ensuring providers are equipped and trained to provide the highly popular training course online.
By providing an online option for paddlers to engage in the Coach Award Core Training programme, allows even more flexibility in how a learner designs their own development pathway. Aligned to our educational philosophy, the Core Coach Training online can now be accessed more easily, saves travelling and additional associated costs. The Core Coach Training online can be used as a progressional step towards becoming a coach, used as continual professional development, or as an opportunity to explore and share ideas of coaching concepts online.

Core Coach Training
The Core Coach Training is open to all paddlers regardless your discipline or previous coaching experience.
During the course, you will explore different approaches to understanding and enabling learning. You will also be supported in evolving your personal coaching development plan to enable you to take your learning into practice after the course.
During the course, you will explore subjects that will help you understand:
- The learning journey of the paddlers you coach
- How to coach learners with different needs
- Structures for practice, to enable your learners to get the most from sessions on the water with you.
Around the main sessions you will also explore (with the support of your tutors):
- Your role as a coach
- Maximising your development through reflective practice and your personal development plan.
At Paddles Up training we are really please to be able to offer Coach Award Core Training programme online and the fantastic opportunities that this provide to our learners who struggle to access courses due to travel and busy work and personal lives
