Still not made up your mind about becoming a Paddlesport Instructor? Here’s our top 5 reasons why you should!
1 – Supports you to run starter / taster sessions and games on very sheltered water
The Paddlesport Instructor award develops your skills to run starter / taster session for those new to paddlesport, games and activities to support learning and how to use mini journeys to inspire adventure and exploration.
2 – Available in stable craft including Kayaks, Sit-on-tops, Stand Up Paddleboards and Canoes.
The Paddlesport Instructor is aimed at those wanting to introduce others to the water and you can choose the craft to qualify in and you will look after others in any stable craft.
3 – Easy to access – the only prerequisites are the Foundation Safety & Rescue Training (FSRT) and National Association membership.
Attending the FSRT ahead of your Paddlesport Instructor course ensures you can focus on the course content, rather than your safety skills.
4 – Practical course – Only two days of combined training and assessment
You will spend almost 2 days on the water learning practical skills such as kitting up a group and getting afloat, initial familiarisation activities, games and activities to support learning and mini journeys.
5 – Available for those age 14 years and over
A great opportunity for young paddlers to take their first steps onto the qualification pathway, helping out in clubs, centres and other organisations.
