Congratulations to Jan, the first NEW Performance Coach

Paddles Up Training would like to congratulate Jan, who recently became a Performance Racing Coach. Jan is the first paddler to take the Performance Coach Assessment since the award was introduced in July.

I’ve learned a fantastic amount about all sorts of things while working through the training and assessment for the Performance Racing Coach.

I’m always keen to improve my coaching. It was great to have the added incentive to learn and some guidance for that learning. It’s been really good building more contacts with some of the very skilled, knowledgeable and passionate coaches in different parts of the British Canoeing Awarding Body coaching community.

I’ve gained some confidence in my coaching. As well as all sorts of ideas for helping the athletes I coach, and even more enthusiasm for coaching and for paddling! All I want now is more time to do these things!
