Paddle UK Awarding Body has today announced the NEW SUP Safer course, aimed at anyone new or relatively novice to Stand Up Paddleboarding, wanting to gain knowledge and raise their awareness of their personal safety.
The SUP Safer course is based on the Paddle UK Awarding Body Educational Philosophy and, as such, the ethos of ‘supporting you, the paddler’ is the main focus of the course, encouraging you to consider where you paddle, the equipment you use and provide practical solutions if you get into difficulty.
The 4 hour course takes place in a sheltered water environment, where you will explore and learn to appreciate the potential hazards you might encounter and be prepared to avoid or deal with them.
The SUP Safer course has 4 modules:

- Environment and Weather
- Planning
- Safety on the Water
