We are pleased to share that we will be introducing single craft pathways for the Paddlesport Leader and Paddlesport Touring Leader from 1st May 2025. This exciting development allows aspiring leaders to specialise in canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboard (SUP), or opt for the existing multi-craft pathway.
This change is being introduced based on feedback from the paddling community, addressing the growing demand from individuals and organisations who usually operate within a single discipline. This therefore allows a more relevant and tailored learning experience, offers choice and ultimately enhances safety and leadership quality within the paddling community.
This change is aimed at supporting voluntary groups and commercial operators who primarily offer kayak or canoe activities, providing a focused leadership award for touring environments without the need for multi-craft rescue demonstrations. The existing multi-craft option will remain available to accommodate clubs and centres offering diverse activities.

Existing Paddlesport Leaders and Paddlesport Touring Leaders do not need to do anything further. This award aligns with the multi-craft option that will be available.
