Description

Your Racing Excel Award is all about you being autonomous in your training and advancing your skills in all racing environments to ensure an enjoyable racing experience at a high-performance level, be this national or international.
You will work with your Coach to ensure you have the skills and have put the preparation in place to deliver your best performance in your sprint, marathon or ocean race. You will build on your pre-existing skill set and knowledge to ensure that you make the right decisions within the race and before it.
Your Coach will support you to identify where you need to improve. You will look at how you can develop both general and specific strengths. It is important to consider the opinions of other team mates and coaches to further gain insight and experience.
What is Involved?
The higher the level at which you race, the higher the pressure on you as an athlete will be. The Racing Excel Award looks closer at the techniques we can put in place to reduce the strain on ourselves mentally as well as physically. Being mentally focused will allow you to deliver your best race plan.
After each session there will be an opportunity for learning and improving. You and your Coach will use performance technology to help analyse each session. You will then decide where to go next in accordance to your long term goals.
