Welcome to Paddle UK RapidJoin. The quick way to gain Paddle UK membership so you can kick off your career in paddling.

This service is for new individual English or non-UK members only. If you are a lapsed or renewing member of Paddle UK, or if you require a couples or family membership, then please use the British Canoeing membership portal here.

If you live in Northern Ireland please join through the Paddle Northern Ireland website here. If you live in Scotland join using the Paddle Scotland website here. Finally, if you live in Wales please join using the Canoe Wales website here.

The membership you will purchase is On The Water membership. It includes a waterways licence for England and Wales and public liability insurance, among other benefits. You will be asked your date of birth and allocated the correct membership type for your age. Prices are:

Individual Adult (Over 23) - £60
Young Person (18-22) - £47
Youth (Under 18) - £37

Guidance for both paddlers and Providers

The Personal Performance Awards are designed for paddlers wanting to gain recognition of their learning and development, in the craft and environment they choose. Although not compulsory, the NEW awards provide an appropriate guide of the personal skills required for the Leadership Awards.

Paddlers are also able to gain the relevant Personal Performance Awards during their Leadership training or assessment, if they show the required skills.

Claire attended the Canoe White Water Leader training and throughout the training, demonstrated the required skills for the Progressive Canoe Award. Claire was awarded the Progressive Canoe Award.

Bob unfortunately was unsuccessful on his Sea Kayak Leader (tidal) Assessment. Bob did not show the relevant Leadership elements but displayed the personal skills necessary to be awarded the Coastal Sea Kayak Award.

Sophie gained her Advanced Surf Kayak Award ahead of her Advanced Surf Kayak Leader assessment, to ensure her personal skills were at the required standard and so she could focus on the Leadership elements during the assessment.

Providers do not need to request Course Authorisation ahead of the Personal Performance Awards which gives the Provider the flexibility to issue the Personal Performance Awards when the candidate has displayed the relevant skills.
