The module develops your knowledge, exploring expeditions from day trips to multi-day, UK and overseas journeys. Furthermore, this module is used by clubs, outdoor centres and organisations to support their journeys and expeditions.

This is an exciting practical module that will provide you with top tips and valuable insights.
- You will develop an understanding of wildlife considerations – bears, bugs and beasts!
- You will explore the leave no trace philosophy
- The tutors will support you to gain an understanding of equipment choice including safety kit, stoves and tents and tarps
- You will develop an understanding of camp craft consideration
- Our tutors will share with you top tips around expedition nutrition and hydration
- You will know how to paddle a loaded craft
- There will be opportunities to ask questions to further your knowledge and meet like-minded people during the course. Many of our course candidates develop long lasting friendships, connections and contacts.

Content
This module will develop your camp craft and expedition skills and support you guiding in your chosen environment. This module explores expeditions, from day trips to multi day, from the UK to overseas journeys. Throughout the module, you will be provided with top tips and a valuable insight to making the most out of journeying with your chosen craft.
The module covers:
- Considerations - an understanding of the expedition environment
- Choice - picking the right kit for the environment and looking after clients
- Nutrition and hydration - the importance of nutrition and hydration on single and multi-day trips, keeping yourself and clients in the best possible condition to complete the trip
- Camp craft - develop an understanding of the complexities and options available when setting up camp
- Packing - develop an understanding of efficient packing, trim, rescue consequences and how a boat responds fully packed
- Tents and Tarps - explore different tents available, consideration on selection for trips
- Wildlife safety and leave no trace - develop an understanding of wildlife safety and leave no trace principles
